GENERAL TREATMENT: REGIMEN THERAPY OR LIFESTYLE PROGRAMME – HELP AT HAND – SPINE AND SEAT MUSCLESSo you have to massage the entire spine. Right from the top to bottom, toning up and getting rid of all the lactic acid. A spasm in the shoulder area can affect the low back. This is because the neck muscles hold the head. They bear the weight of the head. The shoulder and neck muscles bear the weight of the entire neck as well as the head. The mid-back muscles bear the weight of the shoulders, the arms, the neck and the head. The low-back muscles hold the weight of the entire torso. So you have to make sure that the neck muscles are strong enough to hold the head, the upper back muscles are strong enough to hold the shoulders, neck and head and so on. This is why the lumbar vertebrae of humans are broad and tough, compared to the cervical ones. The skeletal spine is ‘conical’ to support the weight of the body. You have to make sure that the anti-gravitational forces build up. It’s crucial, it is the special part of my back treatment. So you come back to the lateral muscles and the groin muscles, especially when they go into a spasm. Then you come to the seat muscles and the hamstrings. The seat muscles, the hamstrings, calf muscles and the Achilles tendon, all these posterior group of muscles, play an essential role in preventing the body from falling flat. They are pulling. When you sit on the chair it is only the spinal muscles that keep your erect, but when you stand erect or kneel then the hamstrings, the seat muscles and the spinal muscles keep your erect. When you stand on your feet then the calf muscles and Achilles tendon are involved as well. So you have to massage the calf muscles as well. If somebody is bent over from pain it is impossible to imagine that the seat muscles and the hamstrings and calf muscles are not involved because they are under constant strain. You therefore have to tone them up to bring the spine back into shape.*152\330\8*
